A critical part of every well-run household is a good family communications system. Developing and practicing this early on will help you better organize your family’s time, prepare for emergencies, avoid misunderstandings, and ensure your get your much- needed Mommy Time.

Mommy’s Coach Carrie Vawter-Yousfi walks you through the key components of a strong, reliable family communications plan, including:

Creating a household reference kit to quickly access medical, educational and recreational contacts Developing an emergency response contact list, including a phone tree and location finder, ensuring everyone in the family knows exactly who to contact and how to reach them

Organizing the family mail center so nothing falls through the cracks Maintaining a family calendar on which everyone is accounted for, appointments are met, birthdays and special events are remembered, and Mom and Dad get time off when needed.
